The numbers don't lie. BreathEasy Augusta's survey of indoor air quality in randomly selected bars across the Augusta area found high levels of pollutants and poor indoor air quality. We also randomly surveyed Augusta residents by phone, who indicated strong support for an ordinance providing smokefree workplaces for every worker.
Indoor Air Quality in Augusta Bars
Workplaces that allow smoking in enclosed spaces are bad for employee health. Workers in these establishments, particularly bars and factories, are more exposed than workers in other places. Unfortunately, they are over-exposed to secondhand smoke and under-protected when they aren't provided health insurance, or even full-time or minimum pay wages.
Nobody deserves to get sick in order to earn a living.
Richmond County Smoking Survey
